“Come and show me another city with lifted head singing so proud to be alive and coarse and strong and cunning.”
In 2010 I started a project called RicharDaily. I challenged myself to make one thing every day for a year. Out of this exploration I began a series based on the poem “Chicago” by Carl Sandburg. In early 2011 I turned this idea into a poster series and funded it on Kickstarter.
At a time when Chicago has a new mayor-elect for the first time in 20 years, Ode to Carl pays homage to Chicago’s roots. It honors Carl Sandburg and brings his words to a new audience.
